TECHNO-CLASSICA ESSEN - The place to find that special Classic Car

The 30th TECHNO-CLASSICA ESSEN is now open, and I must say its a classic car haven. This exhibition is said to attract over 180,000 visitors from about 40 countries around the world, making it the most popular public exhibition for classic cars, vintage cars, prestige cars and more recent classic cars (“youngtimers”). This includes 2700 classic cars that are for sale and can be seen in the photos taken by ourselves below. I can confirm that the event is so large to cover in detail in just one day, so if you are planning a visit definitely plan at least two days to intake the beauty of all the classic cars. If you are just window shopping and cannot afford anything here, not to worry there is also stands selling memorabilia, parts, scale models and much more odd and old stuff that are hard to come by that would make a nice souvenir to any classic car enthusiasts.

The first even began in 1989 with 250 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors and 70 clubs, and even then it was awarded it for the fanciest exhibition booth from the very beginning. It is a global exhibition for classic cars, and remains the original role model for all of the exhibitions which later became established within this field. The exhibition is the basis of the classic car segment, which accounts for sales of over six billion euro in Germany alone.

In everyday traffic, prestige cars are as rare as snowstorms in high summer. At the Techno-Classica Essen, however, the luxury sports cars, luxury sedans and custom-made automobiles appear regularly on an annual basis - like sunshine in August. The usual rare cars that are hard to come by are somewhat common, more so that a buyer has several colors to choose from, e.g we have seen Ferrari Dinos in maroon, green, pale yellow and Jaguar XJ220 in silver, blue ... and not to mention the palette selection of classic Porsche 911s to be bought.

The Classic World Fair is one of the most renowned trade fairs for prestige cars. For most visitors, the special automobiles remain unfulfilled dreams – but if the contents of the wallet are not enough to make such a dream come true, they can view the objects of desire at close quarters during the five days of the show, take photographs or – after consultation with the respective supplier – at least take a seat in them.

This year marks the 30th anniversary with packed scene of international classic cars into the halls of Messe Essen, Germany. The range of displays on offer is unrivalled by any other event and covers all of the themes related to classic cars: more than 2,700 collectible vehicles are for sale and over 20 automotive brands are present to showcase their companies and their history on the official manufacturer stands. Parts and accessory dealers, vintage car restorers and dealers in art and literature offer an immensely wide range of goods and services. Around 220 classic car clubs and vintage car enthusiast associations make TECHNO-CLASSICA ESSEN one of the world’s largest club presentation events, offering fascinating infotainment on the classics.
