Most famous for its central role in the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses, the Reliant Regal has become something of an icon in Supervan form. Until a few years ago, these hardy little three-wheelers were a common sight on British roads, testament to their long-lasting glassfibre bodies. The ohv 600cc (later 700cc) engine was directly related to the Austin Seven’s, and was one of the first aluminium engines built in the UK. Sharp styling was a big improvement over its predecessor, and possibly contributed to its strong sales of up to 20,000 per year.
