1943 Jowett Javelin

A brave attempt by this small British manufacturer, and technologically advanced for the immediate post-war period. The Javelin was designed by Gerald Palmer to give sporting performance and handling, good aerodynamics and comfortable seating for five. It succeeded on all fronts and they were snapped up by professionals. Innovative and well-built, with torsion bar suspension and lightweight flat-four engine, they still feel surprisingly good to drive today and cruise happily at 65-70mph.
