The Typhoon is the entry-level version of the Hurricane, but that doesn’t stop it having an appeal all of its own. Just like its Hurricane/Lancaster brethren it features a front suspension set-up of surprising sophistication: independent with longitudinal torsion bars, along with a more traditional rear set-up of a live axle and leaf springs. The driving experience is stately and dignified, befitting of its upright styling. But the steel-and-aluminium bodywork is corrosion-prone and tough to restore.
