The Targa-roofed spin on the Dino theme arrived in 1972, setting a trend for the fresh air option in mid-engined Ferraris that soon became the norm. As well as the lift-out roof panels, the other big change was deletion of the rear side windows. Not a big deal to many, but it is felt by some to detract ever so slightly from the fine balance of the original design. It’s still one of the most beautiful cars ever built and would surely cost a lot more if Ferrari hadn’t managed to sell so many. Figures for the GTS are lower than for the GT.
