Though mechanically identical to the closely related Dino Spiders, the Coupé has a completely different body, designed by Bertone. The same changes were made in 1969, from 2.0 to a 2.4-litre quad-cam V6, along with a tougher ZF five-speed gearbox and the independent rear suspension swiped from underneath Fiat’s 130 saloon. The 2000 and 2400 bodies look identical at first sight, but changes in grille, badge and vent arrangements mean that only the bootlid is a straight swap between cars. The 2400 was assembled at the Ferrari factory.
