The final and most powerful Herald got a single-carb version of the 1300 engine. That makes it the most useable of the range, and you’ll usually find it in any magazine’s list of the top ten starter classics, as they combine driveability with ease of maintenance. There’s a new dashboard and more space for rear passengers, but the most noticeable change is to a single headlamp version of the Vitesse’s bonnet. Saloon production ended in 1970, with convertibles and estates lasting another year. Both can be worth 50% more than saloons.
