1970 Vauxhall Ventora FD/FE

Vauxhall continued its obsession with the letter ‘V’ in 1968, with the launch of the Ventora. It wasn’t a new car though, just the amalgam of two existing machines; the Victor FD and the Cresta PC. The body was taken from the former, the 3294cc six-cylinder 123bhp engine came from the latter, while enhanced trim levels raised the car above normal Victor standards of comfort and equipment. The car continued as an FE model from 1972, using the same engine with the same level of power. Slightly bizarrely though, estate versions were badged as Victor 3300s rather than Ventoras until 1973.
