1971 Jaguar E-type S3 V12 2+2

Walter Hassan, one of Britain’s pre-eminent post-war engineers, and mastermind behind the Coventry Climax Formula One engines worked with Harry Mundy to produce an all-new V12. As Jaguar’s first production V12, the flat-head single overhead camshaft design was designed for maximum smoothness. When fitted in the E-type, the turbine-smooth V12 was hailed an immediate success, especially in the USA, where it was aimed at. Maxumum speed was still shy of 150mph, though, and fuel consumption was attrocious.
