1959 Bentley BENTLEY S2 Saloon

By 1959 it was time to replace the Rolls-Royce/Bentley six-cylinder inlet-over-exhaust valve engines and what better than a chunky V8 for a company with its eyes on the American market? The 6230cc unit installed in the S2 was smoothly powerful and transformed the Bentley into a silky Grand Tourer that could waft around all day. Power steering and automatic transmission were standard fitments, but there was very little to distinguish an S2 from an S1 visually. Drophead coupé and Continental versions were also built.
