Drive System:

A completely new body was designed by Park Ward – based loosely on the 16 TC21s (designated TC108G) styled by Swiss coachbuilder Graber and built in Loughborough by bus maker Willowbrook from 1956-57. The TD, however, is larger and offers a lot more space for passengers and luggage. Front brakes are discs, and all but the first few TDs got an uprated 120bhp engine. A cheaper Austin-Healey gearbox was employed, but these cars got better during production. The Series II, from October ’62, has all-wheel disc brakes and a ZF five-speed box.
