Developed from the race car, the Esprit 300 Sport is distinct due to its new front airdam and rear spoiler, plus flared arches. A lighter weight composite body helps to shave 91kg off the weight compared to a standard Esprit and it’s stiffer too, as is the backbone chassis. Brakes and suspension are uprated and thanks to a hybrid T3/T4 turbo and more efficient chargecooler, power from the 2.2-litre engine goes up to 300bhp – hence the name. Fittings are in place for a rollcage and race seats. Just 64 examples were built.
