Styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the Subaru SVX was undoubtedly a handsome car. It was powered by a normally-aspirated flat-6 Boxer engine, and used Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive system - standard on all models (apart from the short lived ’base spec’ front wheel drive SVX in 1994-95). The sleek shape gave the car an impressive drag coefficient of .29 cd. Only 24,965 SVXs were officially imported into Europe, so finding a genuine UK car can be difficult – the market is rife with grey imports. Engines and drivetrain are strong.
