1948 Austin A90 Atlantic Convertible

Quirky styling that looks more interesting now than it did to Americans in 1948. That was the car’s target market but the US had cheaper options with bigger engines and a row of chrome strips down the bonnet fooled nobody into thinking it was a Pontiac. At least the Atlantic’s big four-pot found fame a little later in the Austin-Healey 100. Convertible version (add 60% for their values) was launched before fabric-topped coupé, but only stayed in production for two years. By the end in 1952 Austin had managed to shift slightly less than 8000 of them.
