Quick Facts

Production Total: 99

Build Start: 1965

Build Finish: 1969

Drive System:

It’s the car built with the impudent idea of Ford giving Ferrari a slap in the face. And they did it at Le Mans. Four times. Obviously it was an out-and-out racer, so Ford then built seven MkIIIs purely as road cars, using 4.7-litre V8s. The racing versions used either 4.2, 4.7 or 5.0-litre Ford small block V8s or a 7.0-litre big block. Power outputs are recorded as high as 485 reliable bhp. Values are very hard to pin down as the cars differ so much and rarely come up for sale, but a racer with history might make more than our guide.
