1980 Audi Coupé/quattro

Six months after the quattro burst on to the scene, Audi saw fit to launch its lower powered two-wheel drive sister car onto the market. Although the Coupé shared it doors and basic body with the quattro, a lack of wheelarch flairs and fat wheels meant that no one was going to mistake the pair. Living in the quattro’s shadow means that even today, many people don’t appreciate the Coupé for what it is – a roomy, efficient and pleasant sporting car. Reliable and tough it might be, but parts are getting hard to find, but retro kudos is helping the cause and maintaining the survival rate.
