Paqpaqli ghall-Istrina 2011

One of the largest annual car shows in Malta is Paqpaqli ghall-Istrina. This is an event organised by the Malta Community Chest Fund in collaboration with Tonio Darmanin (Producer of the television show Paqpaq) aimed for the car enthusiasts of Malta. The 6th edition of this event was held at the Lufthansa Technik Hangar at the Malta International Airport on 11th December 2011, and launched by President of Malta George Abela (whom later got a ride in the Bugatti Veyron). The event was a success with the help of Malta International Airport plc, Lufthansa Technik, Malta Air Traffic Services (MATS), Armed Forces of Malta (AFM), Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) and Malta Police.

All clubs and individual vehicle owners participate in this event, which includes vintage european cars, all types of japanese vehicles, american muscle, off roaders, the german cars and the large trucks. All participants start showing up at around 6am and stay throughout the day, and the event opens for the public between 9.00am and 3.30pm.

This event has always striven to bring together all the different clubs and unite everybody for one common cause, helping those less fortunate by supporting the Community Chest Fund. All clubs put together an amazing display of their members vehicles whilst motorsport clubs put up action arenas where the public can enjoy a variety of disciplines from off-roadsing to kart, scooter and Mini-moto racing to a fast and exciting circuit where local and international racing enthusiasts participate.

Races from cars, bikes, karts, quad bikes, Mini motos, scooters and motards will be held along taxiway in front of the Lufthansa Technik hangars and an extreme offroading show will be held at the static off road course.
