A total of 25 Porsche cars, including both classics and the latest models where spotted in Malta on Saturday 30th April, 2011 boarding the Gozo Channel from Cirkewwa to Mgarr, Gozo.
The event was the celebration of the 10th edition of the Grand Tour of Taste, which was established 10 years ago in Bologna celebrating on the initiative of the Arena del Sole, the city’s most prestigious cultural institution and an important Italian drama theatre.
Porsche Italia is one of the main sponsors of the 2011 Grand Tour of Taste. The cars travelled about 2000km from Bologna to Malta accompanied by the director-general of Porsche Italia, journalists and chefs driving with their own cars, independently of the Grand Tour of Taste.
Included in the line-up of Porsches where a Matte Black Carrera GT, classic 1955 Porsche 356A, together with a diesel Panamera, hybrid Cayenne, Cayman, Boxster and a number of 911 variants.
Unfortunately to the owners of the Porsches, Malta has been hit by a common dust storm and as can be seen in the photos the cars are covered in sand.
