In an even greater technical tour de force than before, the V8 engine has grown to five litres and now has twin-cam heads with four valves per cylinder. Power goes up to 320bhp, but the big difference is low-end pulling power. The popular automatic gearbox option is now a Mercedes four-speed. Intelligent cooling system features louvres in the air intake that are computer-controlled to change their angle in line with coolant temperature. When closed the car is more aerodynamic. Smoother front and rear bumpers give the looks a lift, and there’s a much larger rear spoiler.
